Emphasizing Partnerships and Capacity Building

Community-Led Reforestation

We partnered with to plant native trees across to restore critical watershed areas and wildlife habitat. Project included community training workshops and ongoing tree monitoring.

School Agroforestry Initiative

Collaborated with [school name] to establish an agroforestry orchard providing students with hands-on learning, fresh fruits, and a shady outdoor learning space. Project involved curriculum integration and student-led tree care programs.

Seedling Nursery Expansion

We expanded our nursery capacity to produce 100,000 additional seedlings per year, increasing our ability to support reforestation projects across the region. Upgrades included sustainable water management systems and a dedicated training area.

Nursery Management Training Program

Advocating for Forest-Friendly Policies

Engaged with local government body to advocate for policies promoting tree planting on public lands and sustainable agroforestry practices. Efforts contributed to new tree planting initiative, revised land-use regulations

Seed Bank Development

Established a community seed bank to safeguard the genetic diversity of native tree species and ensure long-term seed availability for restoration projects. Initiative involved seed collection training and the development of sustainable storage protocols.

Monitoring for Long-Term Success

Implemented a tree monitoring program across 126 reforestation sites. Data collected on survival rates, growth patterns, and ecosystem health informs our planting strategies and demonstrates the long-term impact of our work.

Experimenting with Drought-Tolerant Species

Collaborating with Kenya Forest Service to trial the use of drought-tolerant tree species to address climate change adaptation and increase reforestation success in challenging environments.
